Hyperparathyroidism jaw tumour syndrome (HPT-JT) is an autosomal dominant disease with variable penetrance. Onset is typically in late adolescence or early adulthood. Primary hyperparathyroidism is typically caused by a single parathyroid adenoma but parathyroid carcinoma occurs in 10–15%.
